The new project--The Carbon DM-1
4 Attachment(s)
I traded a couple of my stable horses for two very sought after prime DM-1 rollers and a slash. One was still equipped with a .21 Picco nitro and the other was converted to electric. They both will be getting custom cut carbon fiber chassis and top plates. Power plants are up in the air right now. The deconstruction of the nitro version is already underway. The cut out is this weekend. I have been wanting one of these for quite a while and now I have two.

A few updates..

Finished cutting, shaping and sealing the custom top plate as I am not a fan of the front and rear chassis braces. With the top plate made out of the same material as the chassis, there will be no flex in this thing. The motor mount and mounting plate are finished but waiting on Mike's single speed conversion kit and battery box. Waiting on that and the new front and rear suspension holders and front and rear bumper holders and she will be a complete roller. Next...the motor and ESC. :intello:

More Updates....

Got the new front and rear bumpers in as well as the single speed and battery box from Mike. After a few hours of reconstruction, I have a fully assembled custom carbon fiber DM-1 roller awaiting electronics. Another rewarding build...with another one on deck.

Ooooh, that looks perrdy:intello: Stay away form them kerrbs:rules: I'm not usually interested in onroads but this seems interesting (I must be having a cognitive shift).

I like the dirt a little but there is nothing like screaming down the asphalt at better than 100mph...

What does this weigh? I have done a Carbon on-road conversion to a regular off road buggy which is awesome, but I do love the pushrod suspension on these, if it doesnt and any weight I would seriously consider doing similar to one of these in future.
