Silver Carbon fiber RS4
1 Attachment(s)
After trading away my converted Super Nitro RS4, I have been heck bent one building another one. This time, I will not be foolish enough to trade this one away. The chassis will be 4.4mm silver Carbon. The hard part is shoehorning something big in it. The start of another wonderful build.

So it begins...

I finally found a decent roller on Super RS4 on Ebay and started the rebuild process. With the car in and stripped down to the bare chassis, the plate in, I blue taped the plate, and traced out the template and cut out the new chassis.
|
That looks like the start of a nice build up BH.
|
I have more updates on the way.

Got a chance to work on the RS4 some more. Got the top plate cut and fit, got the 2 piece motor mount installed and finished the rear brace plate installed. Servo going in tomorrow and battery trays soon.
|
That is a huge pinion. What motor is that?
|
That is just a test fit 30t pinion but it does let me know howbig I can go. I can go bigger than that but I am going to stay there or smaller for now. The motor is an HPI Alphastar 2350kv.

I know there isn't much traffic here, but I am watching this build.
You are officially addicted to carbon fiber Big House! |
I'm liking this build.

Almost there....

Yes I am. This is carbon monster #8. Almost done with this one. Chassis clean-up and tape removal is that last step. Put the whole car together to make sure everything went together. The last things needed are the batteries, battery trays, body and the Mamba Pro.
|
Stop teasing us, take the tape off.
|
Not just yet. I have to make sure it is completely ready before the tape comes off. Still got some chassis refinement to do.

One step closer. The battery trays came in today as well as the pinion. Should clean up the chassis and finalize the assembly tomorrow.

THe Silverback is born...
3 Attachment(s)
After cutting shaping sanding and sealing, the Silverback is born. Finally got everything in and done. Got the battery trays fitted and attached and took off the tape. Motor is meshed and will probably be a rear support brace because I think it is going to be quite torque happy. Bench test coming once I get the Mamba Pro in.

Man that looks like a fun car.
