A must watch
This is a must watch if you have not seen it yet, and even if you have it is worth watching over and over again. The Hennessey Venom GT production test run 14/Feb/2014 at the Kenedy Space Center 270.4mph.

That is pretty cool. I think it's kind of funny they call that car a production vehicle.

I can see your point
Yea I can see your point, but I think the premise is that they are going to production with this car very soon. I believe it will be an American made vehicle, but where they are going to setup camp, or what the price range will be is still a mystory at this point. I am sure that it will start to show up on the internet very soon, because once people get wind of whats going on they are going to want to buy this car. I am sure that it will be well out of my price range much like the Tesla, but who knows? I would thing that just owning one of these babies is like money in the bank, because I don't see the value going anywhere but up. 270.4mph. I mean holy crap. That is amazing.

This car has been available for a few years, they just haven't had a chance to top speed test it until now.
And you could buy about 15 teslas for one of these, the price is $1,000,000. |

When it was featured on Tuned they were registered as Lotus Elises making them tuner cars despite only the gauges steering and doors still being stock Lotus, if they have gone through the type approval process since then and they are being registered as Henessy Venoms now, then it is a new car being produced despite it using some Lotus parts, just as Aston Martin use some Ford parts, Lamborghini use some VW parts, and Zonda probably use some UFO parts. The volume of its production does not effect its being classed as a production vehicle or not.

Having seen close to 200mph (195 a few times on a modded kaw zx12r) I can imagine the next 75mph was a lot fun. It sure does accelerate fast. There is something captivating about just going wide open in a fast vehicle.

Decceleration
Yea decelleration must be an adrenaline rush as well as you are crashing and watching the vehicle coming apart around you in what seems like slow motion. Very similar to jumping off of a building or a bridge. It is not the drop or the flight time on the way down that hurts. Its the sudden impact of the surface below. It must be great just to do it and live, and also terrifying to crash at over 200mph like they do in NASCAR, but then they have cars designed to take impacts and crashes at those speeds, and still be able to walk away (most of the time anyway), but a street car is just not built to withstand any issues at that speed. I have seen way too many great drivers talk about what a rush it is, only to die in their next run. What's the statistics these days like 250,000 people die every year on USA roads, and most of them are only doing 65mph. Just doen't seem worth it to me.
