Cogging

What causes this and how to fix it??? I have a 1/5 scale truck setup for drag racing 132' with a 2028 motor 600kv running on 12s using an MGM 25063 ESC. Problem is too much power so when I turn it down the motor cogs. I am not sure about how to fix this? Would going to a 800kv motor fix this or adding a cap pack??? Also batteries are Thunder Power 4400 maH 70C, I am running a 19/54 gear setup.

I got it all sorted out no more cogging. Apparently I had too much pinion I changed that and it is all good now.

Not sure about the cap pack, but are you sure you have a 600kv 2028? I have one of the old ones (780kv) and one of the new ones (800kv). If you are using 600 in your gearing calculations that's a pretty big error.

I am sure it is a 600 kv motor, it is a Poseidon motor I bought it brand new. Anyway going back to the 16 t pinion made all the difference.
