Mashed chassis
I recently bought a Maxx with a G2 chassis. On stripping it as it had been in a damp shed for years,I stripped and killed a few threads in the chassis rails.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of new rails as these I am having trouble finding. J |
They don't really exist, only in people's collections now.

You have a couple options with the rails, but nitrostarter is right in saying finding new ones is not likely.
Depending on what thread you have stripped, you can look at doing one of 2 things: 1.) Use a longer bolt and fasten it with a nut 2.) Re-tap the stipped thread. If you search youtube for how to do this you should find the information you need to be able to go about it... Hope this helps... Sammy |
Look at Wheelman's build.... :)

Not sure if possible in aluminum, but my brother once used JB Weld on a Car Crank (cast iron) to reform the threads for the dampener. He slathered it on the bolt and Snugged it down, waited 24 hours, removed the bolt and reinstalled the dampener. It held till he disassembled the engine, 3 years later. The threads still looked perfect
