How many Gorrilla Maxx owners race their E-Maxx's? It looks like there are alot of show trucks in here I was just curious. I race mine every other weekend. In face we just held our Big race last weekend. Its called the Battle at the Beach and is held down here in FWB Florida we had 100 entries this year. I race in an unlimited monster truck class against everything from revos to full on race truggies. Im the only electric. I made the A main which is 15 min long. Pitting was interesting. To say the least. A battery bar came unsoldered and put me way back on laps. But I did finish better than last. Ha ha Thats my testimonial and by the way thanx to Gorrilla Maxx for the great chassis. I gotta put in another order for the chassis ex and some new battery straps. My straps broke three times on the practice day before the races. My batts also grounded out on the chassis and cought fire during practice. Yes I do have the foam pads on the chassis. I need new ones already. My batteries were sliding forward, when I landed off the huge jump; and breaking the straps. Whats the solution you guys suggest to stop that from happening. I put some yokomo stand offs in front of my batts through the chassis and it kept the batts in place. Any help would be GREAT!!!! LAter

i race my g-maxx, i have to get the skids and ext kit still, i have cf chassis, and g3 race suspension, maybe you should try landing a bit better, in what place is it exaclty breaking?

Hmm yeah I wish I could have landed better every time but there were many varriables against me and all the other racers. Many chassis were broken. The jump that claimed them all sent 8th scales and monster trucks were getting at least 12 feet up in the air and making a 24 ft tripple. And to top it all off there were 30 to 35 mph wind gusts blowing directly against the jump. So you had to be cautious when you jumped. Sometimes id single the whole thing sometimes id double it and others id tripple it. The battery straps broke any time I nosed in hard off any jump large or small. Is that what you were aksing? Or was it about the battery bars?

Are you lacing the straps into the slots on the lower chassis plate just in front of the last cell (how many cells are you running?)


The velcro straps are by far the lightest and most versatile and not to mention - easy to replace... but if you're going to be doing a lot of mad jumps you might be interested in our new carbon fiber straps - I am about to release these

George beat me to it. I tested these new straps and they are the answer for any truck that takes hard hits.

do you have any pics mike? I want to see these on a real truck, with batteries and everything.

Unfortunately, I have no pictures. I lost my camera software after my computer crashed (couple months ago). This is why HotnCold had to help with pictures of the motor clamp/heatsink. What you don't see is the battery contour on the bottom side of the straps. These hold the battery very snug and secure to the chassis. These are a very good product.

What keeps the batts from sliding forward using the solid bars? I was lacing the straps just in front of the first cell but the straps started to wear a bit so I went back to the normal way and added yokomo standoffs to prevent the slide. Im only running 6 cells.:D

The velcro stretches and allows the batteries to move. The CF straps are contoured on the bottom to "wrap" around the cells, and they are screwed down to hold the cells tight to the lower chassis plate. I think something else may break before the batteries move with this setup. It holds them very tight.

Great!!! Im in!! I just ran my truck and discovered that my carbon chassis is broken im bummed.

Did you have loose screws on the chassis somewhere? I have put mine through the ringer and haven't seen any signs of fatigue. Where did it break?

I flipped my truck a few times and rolled it front to back and side to side at 30+ mph and batteries still held on.

Too bad I don't use the foam padding tho..

My batts grounded out on the carbon chassis and literally set the foam pads on fire!!! The fire is what fatigued the chassis Im sure. Im still way bummed I really love that chassis and its only about a month old. Anyone know how much a replacement is for just the chassis plate?
