2 hp brushless motor!!
 

Hey, Has anyone seen the Nemesis B1 2hp bl motor? I saw it in the July issue of RC Driver. Fine Design is putting it in a 1/8 buggy called the E-Storm. It is 1500 watt system and running with a 9920. They are getting 53 mph with one 4s 14.8 20c LiPo. This thing is awesome! Does anyone know how much this motor cost? I got to get one of these even if I have to save for awhile.

FYI, Jamie from Starluckrc has stated on the ultimaterc.com brushless forum that the 540 L can Feigao is good for about 1500W and the XL is around 2000W. With 746W being a HP, I imagine the B1 is an L can Nemesis/Feigao 540 motor. Calling it 2HP is just another marketing strategy.

No. You won't push the motor to it's max to achieve maximum power. Also I doubt that the batterie's put out 3kw all the time. They can, but only in small burst's.

If you really like to know how much power your setup actually deliver's, use a eagle tree.

1 thing you have to remember mmdooley, this is a buggy, not a monster truck, i bet if they put a 1940 in there that buggy would be able to hit atleast 60.

Definitely not cheap, no. Their MicroPower system appears to give good information for $70, though...not too bad overall.

That is good for someone that needs the info out of curiousity or experimenting.

I got one when they first came out. Mine was bought so early on, that Eagle Tree had a deal going on for a free temperature sensor that I took advantage of :). It's a nice unit, and works well.

For the Feigao XL motors to put out 3 HP in a burst (they won't do it continuously), you need about 21-22 good NiMh cells and a motor that won't spin too fast with that voltage. Even then, you need an application that needs that sort of power for the motor to put it out!

Also, I've never heard of any feigao motor achieving speeds anywhere near 53 mph in a 1/8 scale buggy. Especially with only 14.8 volts.

Perhaps it's because you don't know of anyone that has attempted it?

Why couldn't a buggy go that fast? My MT2 weighs about as much as a 1/8 buggy at 7.7 pounds, and it can do 50 mph with a 9L and 14.4 volts. Is the gearing on a buggy that different?
