MRC Super Brain 977
I have a quick question. Anyone use this charger for IB4200's? Will it charge 4200's? Thank you!
|
what charger is it?
|
MRC 977 :o)
|
It should charge them just fine.

Yes.

Thanks guys. I thought so, but wasn't sure. I had gotten the triple charger too, but it said only up to 4000. So i went with the MRC instead. Good to know! i love my ib3800's, but i would like to go 4200 i guess also and try them. I kow some are runnin them, any opinions in the difference between the two? or should i just stick with the 3800's??

Id stick with the 3800's. The 4200's are still new, imo gp3300's would be great too, its probably one of the best cells on the market.

Thanks. I'll wait, save money for lipo's later on....i need to lighten the load!

Save for Lipo. The 977 will charge them also. I have had the 977 for a while now. Pretty nice charger. Although, when charging lipo, I still recomend paying cclose attention to the settings on the 977. I think its still far from 'foolproof'.
When you plug in a Lipo battery, it autodetects the equivilant cell count in NiMh. You have to manually select the cell count down to the Lipo cell count then when you hit start it will show the word LIPO in the cell count screen. Yoi have to manually scroll through to verify that it is indeed charging in the Lipo mode. The only other gripe I have in Lipo mode, the max amp rate you can charge is 2.5A for a 2s lipo, and 3A for a 3s lipo. If you have lipos bigger than 2500mah or 3000mah you cant charge at the full 1C rate. But... All that said. Its very versitle. Can charge just about anything with it, you just have pay attention to what you are doing. |
