Brushless for MT2?
hi,
my next winter project (yes i know its a long way away i just need to do my research) is going to be a Brushless mt2 SS. and i was wondering what would be a good setup on 6/7 cells? ive got a warrior 7020 and feigao 380c 7t for my T4, would that setup be ok in the Mt2? thanks! Superbasher |
Check out my reply in the other thread.

When I was picking motors for my MT, I was recommended either a 380c 8t, 380c 6L, or 540 8s. I went with the 6L but haven't finished building it yet. This was for 8 cells however. I'm sure the 7t would work well on 6-7.
*edit* You may want the torque of the L series for 4WD though. |
ok then- i may get the 380c 8t. not sure though. i also need the cash first.
|
If you're going to get another motor, I'd recommend the 6L over the 8t. Like GeeReg said, you'll need the extra torque, and I would guess that a short can 380 motor will overheat in a 4WD stadium truck. I've heard that they get pretty in in 2WD trucks.
If you decide to try out the 7t, make sure you gear low. |
yeah i'd deffo have to gear low. would i have to use mod1 pinions, or just normal 32p pinions?
Thanks for all the help guys! :) |
That's the hard part about using 380 motors. They have a 1/8" shaft, and there are not any 1/8" mod 1 pinions that I am aware of, so you'd need to use a 32p gear. The stock MT2 spur is a mod 1 spur, so you'll have to modify a 32p spur to make it work in the truck.

Mike sells 1/8" shaft Mod1 pinions. I just ordered 2 to finish my MT.
|
Oh, good. I didn't realize that. You'll have an easy time then, Superbasher.

pheeeewww.... was going to get even more annoyed lol
getting bullied at school, opening your BL systems package and finding the controller hadnt been shipped as its gone out of stock, and if i had to modify stuff i think i wouldve blown it lol :005: |

Get the guy when he's alone. Trust me, after a 2kg truck hits him at 40mph, he won't be nicking anything. He'll be too busy clutching his legs in pain! :032:
