Help me decide
So I've been searching suspension threads for the past few days and still indecisive in which setup to get. The three I'm looking at are: G3, Integy type III, and FLM. (arms and shock towers)
I like the G3 because I've been impressed with all the gorillamaxx products including chassis and extension, motor mount, and skids. Thats the reason I would pick this suspension, however, it's not the most durable. The FLM is backed by the cheap replacement policy and seems very durable. I keep on reading about "coolhand" yet to bend or break them. Only reason I wouldn't pick is because I like having all the same brand. I just threw the Integy kit in here because you get a lot for the price. I know previous versions are a bit weak. I"m not a basher nor racer...I just take the ole truck to the local park to play around, plus I'm too chicken to do crazy stunts or jumps. I'm conservative on the throttle but would like something pretty stout since crashes are inevitable with brushless power! http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...o/DSC01817.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...o/DSC01813.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...o/DSC01812.jpg 8XL, BK9920, 16 cells, Pro-line Powerstrokes, G2 CF chassis, G3 skids, motor mount, CF extension |
What's wrong with the plastic arms?
|
Nothing wrong...just want nice look of aluminum!
|
I would go with the Integy Type 3. Actually, thats the one that Coolhand couldn't seem to break :p
|
I have the gorilla suspension and love it. Never tried the Integy, but my old emaxx has the type II lower arms and they are great. so I would assume the type 3 are great...
|
The orginal integy was crap to me. The type3 made a handling improvement and was alot stronger. I would have no question on buying it again. The gmaxx is nice but it light weight. The flm is probably the strongest. I think with either you be happy. If you want better handle go integy. You want the strongest flm. You want lightest go gmaxx.

For me, the TTR suspension is enough for me to buy it. If you think about it, the no rear turnbuckle design only makes it stronger.

I have the REAL Supermaxx Racer-X suspension (Not the cheap chinese copy by Integy) and love it. Friends of mine have the Supermaxx EXT and also love it. I would vote for the FLM if you're bashing due to the strength, reasonable price, and excellent warranty. I would vote for the G-Maxx if you want light weight and high performance. Integy aluminum parts have been and still are cheap junk. Integy uses castings which they then machine to look like quality billet parts. I've snapped numerous Integy parts including bulkheads. They warranty nothing! Stay away from Integy! Buy the FLM or G-Maxx!
BTW...I have several FLM parts including chassis, braces, diff cups, and transcase, and they are nice, a step down from Supermaxx but far less expensive and with GREAT customer service. |
My new FLM transcase...

The Integy isn't what you make it out to be. The new stuff is far superior and for less than half the cost of the Racer-X, I would choose Integy. But I'm not hard on my truck (I'm a good driver :p). True, the old Integy was crap, but the newer stuff is much better. I personally think it's saying something if Leroy didn't break it :p.

I have busted the type 1 bulks but not the type 2. The type 2 is better built. I agree the racer x is great suspension but it has great price tag to.

I agree with Procharge. I have a FLM setup and it is great, And the warranty is not a scam ether because I have used it and it cost me $17 to replace about $75 worth of parts. |
What did it take to get the tranny to shine?
I have buffed some before but it was all big stuff. |
He probably wrapped his shirt over the wheels of his '70 Dodge Challenger and let the 1072 horses do the job for him..
LOL i was just reading your signature, you sure you don't want to mention your house or other things of interest? :p |
Lol Serum.
Leroy,i've got a great set of polishes from English Custom Polishing,http://www.englishcustompolishing.com/ That's one shiney transmission there. As for arms,i like the setup you've got on there, but i'd be inclined to go with G-maxx over the FLM, for weight and gives nice tuning options. |
