need help choseing a brushless motor

I have A Brushless E-maxx that weighs 12&1/2 pounds haven"t driven it much as I only get about 4 minutes run time with The Novak HV-Maxx Brushless System any suggestions as to what brushless moter and speed control I can get to give me 20 min run time or more and 40mph or more thinking about getting lithium batteries http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKLK8&P=0

6400 mah 14.8 volt 20 mins is pretty easy. 8xl should get you there.

or a lehner 1950 could be even better!

neweuser 07.01.2006 09:59 AM

Run time not only includes an efficient motor, but good batts too. 5min hv maxx? what are you running for batts and gearing? I used to be able to almost hit the 25 min mark....

if I used the Lehner(LMT) 1950 motor what motor wind would be good And what would be a good speed control for it that can handle litium batteries?and what are the most powerful litium batteries out there? about what run time and speed would I get?thinking about converting it to single speed trans. Thanks

1950 7t quark 125b with 4s lipo in the 6400 mah would be a great set up.

Use a small pinion if you can to get more runtimes.

about what speed and run time would I get with the Lehner(LMT) 1950 motor
and http://www.maxamps.com/contents/en-u...d=38889.712500
would it be possible to got almost an hour run time? and still do 40 mph , the gearing I have right now is a 72 spur gear with 14 tooth pinion, and battery I"ve been useing 3000 vinum raceing Thanks

Looks like there are 'High Amp' versions of some of the Lehner 1950's. What's that about?

coolhandcountry 07.02.2006 07:47 AM

If you go with the 12000 mah packs. You should get up in the region of an hour. You could drop back to a 1950 9t 8000mah 3s2p have more power with great run time as well.

2 FAST 4 U 07.02.2006 08:06 PM

where can I find the 8000mah 3s2p ? would I use 1or2 battery pack About how much run time and top speed would I get? with the 1950 9t
Thanks

coolhandcountry 07.02.2006 09:23 PM

you would use 2 8000 mah 3s 2p packs. You should see 40 mph pretty easy and should get close to an hour of run.

squeeforever 07.02.2006 11:16 PM

On a 8T, I think you would get around 58mph so a 9T i would say around 53ish at an hour+ runtime easy.

MaxAmps Lipoly 8000mah 3S2P 11.1V Pack are these the batteries you were talking about ? Do I run both batteries on same speed control? Should I convert to single or 2 speed trans? What gearing would be good? I"am going to build a new trans with http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...xtranny&cat=47 http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...RO_DIFF&cat=47

was wondering if I should use stock slipper clutch? Thanks to all for your helpful imput.

HotnCold 07.03.2006 07:10 AM

Strobe slipper would be better. But if you decide to go with the stocker - crank her down - with big power it wont be long before she melts like a ice cream cone on a 100 degree day. Kinda defeats the point of having a slipper if you have to crank it down all the way though. But she will melt fast if you dont....( dont ask me how i know :027: )
