novak gtb 6.5

can i use a 2s lipo pack with the novak gtb brushless systems ? on novak,s homepage thay say that it's made for maximum 6nimh cells 7,2v, does that mean that i can't use lipo's and highvoltage nimh cells ?

I had one. I ran 2s for a while on it and didn't have any issues. I wouldn't go for more than that though.

I looked at it this way. A freshly peaked 6 cell pack has a higher voltage thatn the 2s lipo fully charged. the diference is that the voltage drops much quicker on the NiMH cells than it does with Lipo.

If you go lipo, make sure you have a low voltage cut off set up. The GTB doesn't have one.

I have a 2s lipo that I have used on my GTB w/ 5.5r motor with mixed results. It has thermaled at least once during a hot day running, but it seems to work pretty well overall. No significant performance increase though.

I asked Novak that question and they told me that can be used with no problems, but need a separate Lipo cutoff:037: .
