Cool to see you are into RC Awqut..

I sent you some PM's earlier.

About the aluminum;

Get some waterproof sandpaper (start with 600) and make your aluminum homemade parts nicer.

Thanks for the compliment bytheway!
It's not what my initial plan is, but it's getting somewhere.. (initial plan is to make an entire frame for the savage, i did draw it, it also fits a 2280 motor :p )

stampy 08.11.2006 05:15 AM

yikes! can i say torque!:004:

Serum 08.11.2006 07:55 AM

I can guarantee you a 2250 is absolute overkill already, leave alone the 30mm longer rotor!

aqwut 08.11.2006 09:02 AM

That is true... I was happy with my 1930, but then I got stoopid and bought this motor.. :) I'm afraid to go full throttle... 42 Spur, 30 Pinion.. it is still undergeared..

Serum 08.11.2006 09:10 AM

Glad with my 'launch control' on the MGM controller. you can setup the time it goes from 0-100 percent..

about cleaning it up;
You could start with getting a set of batterie cups, such as the AE cups.. they work like a charm with a velcro strap, you can pile an entire wall of batteries in it..

coolhandcountry 08.11.2006 09:52 AM

If you wantto loose the lights in the front and rear could eleminate some wireing or try to hide it or strap it better to chassis. I agree with the battery cups. You can get some shrink and coat the wires totally as well.

Nice to see you made it back. I still waiting for that video on that little motor. :D

aqwut 08.11.2006 01:32 PM

cool... thanks.. battery cups.. I never thought of that.... yeah.. gonna get rid of the lights and get new bumpers.. I need a bunch of new stuff.. the arms are all beat up.... too bad they don't make carbon fibre a-arms... that would be sweet...

cemetery gates 08.11.2006 01:33 PM

call it project overkill....BTW how many cells....

coolhandcountry 08.11.2006 03:19 PM

Don't worry aqwut. With body on it and passing by you at 60 mph. You don't notice a whole lot.

Darren 08.11.2006 03:45 PM

Look at the length of that motor!

Holy... ! That's un-believeable.

What's it doing top-speed wise?

Serum, those are AcncM parts.

What made you think i didn't knew?

aqwut 08.11.2006 10:38 PM

those acncm parts hold up prett well.. I have a problem with gears.. I just killed my 2 acetyl gears.. and killed my steel pinion...

does Mod 1 gears have a pitch to it.. cuz I would like to order mod 1 spurs from sdpsi but I don't know what pitch mod1 are... is it 24 pitch?...

squeeforever 08.11.2006 10:46 PM

Mod1 is a Metric pitch. Like .8 is 32P. A little math and you can find out. I'm pretty sure it comes out to about 24P though.

Edit: I did a little digging and found this converter. It was a PITA to install, but I installed it and if I did it correctly (I think I did since I double checked myself using the .8 to 32P conversion. It came to 31.something) it came out to 25.4P.

They sell mod1 gears,click on metric selection in the store.
