NEW! E-Savage BY hpi
1 Attachment(s)
The first electric powered Savage monster truck!
"Electric power is the easy way to get into off-road monster trucks. Charge up, switch on, and enjoy the ride. The E-Savage captures that ease and adds the proven durability and extreme off-road capabilities of the famous line of Savage trucks. You need a tough and powerful truck to handle electric off-roading, and the E-Savage delivers." says hpi, its completely ready 2 run includes batterys(3300) MaH 7.2V and hot bodies charger with 2 outlets already includes fail safe and i think 2 gears like the e-maxx. and i think it uses mod-1 "The all new chassis design was inspired by the time tested durability of our Savage line. Additionally, the balanced symmetrical layout, AWD drivetrain and awesome power of twin 14.4V GT550 electric motors give this Savage excellent performance on or off road. " i guess now traxxas has some eclectic truck compitition! now whats better? IT does look cool though!:004: PIC and link:http://hpiracing.com/index2.htm and go to electic off-road |
It appears to be a re-badged E-Zilla (Hot Bodies), which is at least a little unfortunate, since several people here have said the E-Zilla isn't particularly durable. If that's true, it's a shame that HPI put the "Savage" name on it; "Savage" has become synonymous with "durable" in the monster truck category.
Either way, it's always a good thing for another electric monster truck to join in :003: |

it also make me happy because it gives people a lager selection:dft003: :dft009: |
It would have been nice to have it come with brushless though - especially since that is the way the industry is going...

I wonder if hpi may have upgraded some of the drive train.
Maybe they going to come out with some upgrades. This maybe a good thing for the guys with ezilla. |
i had one during 3 monthes, it seems like a big toy to drive... i never ran a stock e-maxx but i can imagine that they are equal.
I sold my E-zilla back after applying 2x7cells + a carbon chassis. I have a good racer e-maxx, therefore it looked like a turtle for me... Stock tranny will not handle BL power... What you have to know about this 10th scale MT, is that it's hard to find some replacement parts. There are no interesting upgrade at the moment for this truck also. After trying both i prefer my Maxx... so much things to do with this kind of chassis. |
hope flm gets onto quick
|
It's just a damned E-Zilla :frown:...Anywho, I don't thing FLM should even waste time making parts for it...Another indication that it's nowhere near the Savage state of durability is that is has sliders...Just like the E-Zilla..

Those manufacturers always look down upon us, electroguys.

i've herd that they might come out with a new designed e-maxx, that must be something to think about espesially when you need it as a roller.
|
i agree with squee and batfish....it's an ezilla, and puts a bad name on the savage for durability factor. On another note, you can't beat the maxx for options, and this thing is an insult to electric IMO....i would buy a nitro savage before this thing...IMO IMO

If the savage (real) diffs fit, all you'd need is a spool for the center diff
|
I think this is one of HPI's few truely pathetic vehicals. Honestly, it just isn't worthy of the Savage name. I am a hardcore Traxxas fan but I think the Savage is one of the few great MT's that isn't from Traxxas :p.
|
They could at least put cvds and better diffs.
