27mhz vs. 75mhz

whats the difference? whats the advantages/disadavtages of each on an xs3?

You want 75mhz. 27 mhz has 6 frequecies, while 75 mhz has 30.

supermaxx4190 03.28.2005 07:16 PM

so the 27mhz version only has 6 channels? are they the 1-6 channels that come with all the traxxas stuff?

RC-Monster Mike 03.28.2005 07:18 PM

you got it. The am r/c radios transmit on 27mhz.

good thing i bought a 75mhz!!! the 27 mhz is pointless. all the guys at the track run the stock traxxas radios and they all are always fighing over the 6 channels when there is 8 guys:L:

There are a few 75 MHZ that are AM. I haven't seen any of those that have the features that the moderately priced radios like my Airtronics MX-3S has though. I really don't see the point in making them or buying them except that having one means you'd still be able to run even if all the AM 27 and FM 75 MHZ frequencies happen to be taken at the track.

I haven't seen any 75MHz am radios, but the ones that come with the kits are all 27MHz. I think am and Fm will still cause interference if they are on the same channel (72 FM would not play nice with 72 AM). Not sure, but pretty sure. Where have you seen 75MHz AM radios?

i had a jr xr2i am radio on 75mhz

Tower Hobbies has several. Look through the 2 channel pistol grip radios. Airtronics, Futaba, Towers brand, Hitec all make them.

I know they make them, just didn't think they came with RTR cars. Most RTR vehicles come with the 27Mhz radios
