Li-Po cut off product suggestions
I am running 2 Kokam Li-Po 4800 packs in my E-maxx and always stop before I know where the cut off is, but I wanted to get some cut off circuts before I go brushless and I wanted to know if anyone has suggestions. I am relatavily new and would need something dummy proof. Thanks!

This is the only one I know about. I've never used one, but talk to the guys at MaxAmps if the guys on this forum don't have a better answer.
Low Voltage Cutoff for 1-4S Lipoly Packs $39.99 Cellpro 1-4S Discharge Protection Module (DPM) plugs in-line with any ESC control cable going to the receiver throttle channel and also plugs into to the Cellpro battery pack node connector. It monitors each cell during flight and cuts off the motor when the weakest cell is safely depleted. Weight: 0.3oz (9grams) Comes with plug to connect directly to the Hyperion type/MaxAmps standard taps http://www.maxamps.com/index.html?la...d=38968.470081 |
The CellPro LVC would work... But it will require that the little extra ballancing port on both batteries be utilized, and then would need to connect to the outputs of both batteries. It would require some work, but would be doable.
Some members here use the LiSaver: http://www.atsrcplanes.com/lisaver1.htm It will work best if you have reverse disabled, due to the nature of it (it's made for RC airplanes). |
If you going to get a brushless system. You can get one with a built in lvc.

I wanted to use an automatic cut-off myself for a starter box for my gas car, but it seams like that li-saver requires the use of a receiver and a speedcontroller. I need a dumber system, just to go between the battery and motor and cut-off the discharge when the voltage drops.
