Pics and report on my dual BL!
 

Well I finaly got the beast running Yesterday. I took it out in the street (which by the way, is not a good place to try and drive something that is really fast) and started out very causiously, not knowing what to expect. As I eased into the throttle, I could tell that this thing was not to be taken lightly. I made two passes just going back and forth trying to get a feel for the beast.
On my third pass, I cruised by doing about 15mph then gave it only about half-throttle and instantly flipped the dang thing right on its back. It slid for about 10-15 feet. Holy cow this thing has some serious torque!
After a couple more passes, maybe about 20-25mph, I decided to ease into it a little harder. I gave it some trigger and imediately had to back off because it was going to flip right back over! I think I need a wheelie bar.:W:
I took some pics of it in my garage. My brother-in-law has a digital video camera that I am going to have to barrow so I can show you guys this beast in action.
I will be lowering the thing tonight because it sits too high for high-speed runs. Please give me some input on things you see wrong or things I should do differently.

Wow you are using the traxxas stock radio? Any glitching?

That thing must be a beast for sure, looks really cool but I think a nice FM radio is next to protect your investment.

Also is that 28 cells? Holy crap that thing must weigh a ton. Make sure you really stiffen those springs for speed runs too with all that weight. Lipos would really lighten things up alot.

Is that 14 cells per motor? Which motor? 9L? Geez man, a single 9L or 10L is enough torque - wheelies a lot as it is. Having 2, you've to a vehicle that has too much torque - there is such a thing as too much torque. You should be able to gear that sucker till it hits beyond 60 mph! If those tires won't balloon too much. I'm surprised that the slipper doesn't just melt off completely.

BTW, cool project. I'm a power freak - anything with too much power is great!

What diffs are you using? still stockers?

And my last question to you;

Are those balistic gp3300 cells your using?

I've ran dual 9Ls along time ago with 28 and 32 cells. You should have a blast with that combo.
If that is the stock diffs and slipper pray for them every time you pull the trigger. The combo can pull a very tall gear. What gearing are you using?

Sweet. I ran a dual system once and found it too powerful for the type of driving that I do(and it wasn't nearly as overkill as this setup). I am glad you got the beast up and running and I look forward to the video! Like others mentioned, pull the trigger slowly or things will disintegrate under that much power.

RCcarnut, its funny you mention the stock radio, my brother was doggin on me last night for the same thing. Im thinking of getting this one. Its just a little glithcy when I first take off. And yes, I think LiPos are in the near future.
Lipomax, yes that is 14cells per each Feigao 9L motor, 28 total. And no, there is no such thing as too much torque, as long as you can control it.:L:
Serum, Yes my diffs are still stock....(saying prayer)....but I put a spool in the rear. I am currently scouting out some places by my house that would give me enough room for a high-speed run. So far just a park that I found with short cut grass.:( Batteries are Pro-match.
Promod, what slipper did you use/recomend? The gearing is a Jamie recomended 20t.

Yeh with all that money into your truck I would get a nice radio. The one you linked is really nice.

For speed runs I am lucky and live on a rural road with barely any traffic. I have a decent straight away in front of my house.

One place for good speed runs is a new road under construction on a sunday or something when they are not working.

You will have to make sure noone is around dragging that beast it will be very hard to stop at 60 trust me. At 60 mph a 14lb rig like that could really hurt someone.
