As of a couple weeks ago they didn't even have any units in house to test with... only have made like two of them and they weren't even being tested.

They don't even know when beta testing will begin.

But Shawn says the controller is good to go when it's time, and it won't be a problem... the holdup is the motors. They are still working on motor design.

And they haven't decided yet on some of the final specs like max voltage. High voltage (very high voltage) parts cost more they say so it isn't a no brainer for them to do that, but it's a possibility.

I would say don't expect anything before the end of the year at least. Just a guess.

I know they have at least one they're playing with, this a quote from John Ford from Castle
Quote:

crazyjr...the Monster Max is still in development...you should SEE what this thing can do. Standing 360 backflip with a stock Emaxx!!! It got our 14lb aluminumized Emaxx up to about 50mph...no radar gun, but rest assured...I'm getting in front of those things with the radar gun just as eagerly as I did with the Max

Castle creation ROCKs. if they enlarge their product-range and use segmented magnets, you don't need another company for your BL setups..

I hope they get a lower KV as with the mamba-maxx and don't look at the novaks too much with their 4200rpm/v..

I would love to see a high voltage version 12s Lipo, 200 Amp with big heat sinks, built in fans, 5.5mm connectors, on-off switch, high rpm limit, good software, usb port.... I would pay 400-500 for something like that with a good waranty and fast service.

useless, but nice.

4-5S is more than enough for on the track, unless you are planning on racing the salt-lakes with a satalite rc-connection..

I don't thing that price is fair though. You know what you payed for your mgm and 2240.

glassdoctor 09.12.2006 04:40 PM

Shawn said they had a couple but he didn't even know where they were the day I talked to him. Hmmmm probably in his top desk drawer ;)

This is good info! Just can't wait for the beta testing :p.

A system that can do 6s is fine for me. Built in lvc to. Some thing with like a xl motor would work.

captain harlock 09.13.2006 04:07 PM

You think they can make it as powerful as the MGM 16024 esc?

There's a possibility, right?

Serum 09.13.2006 04:43 PM

Yes, that sounds plausible.

crazyjr 09.13.2006 06:10 PM

If they use the HV series as a platform, anything is possible. I hear they can hold 50v

coolhandcountry 09.13.2006 07:35 PM

Maybe they could build one for like 6s and the other closer to the air plane model they have out.

squeeforever 09.13.2006 08:13 PM

If they could do 80+ amps cont. (all I need for any of my motors), 6S LiPo, LVC, and 4 poler compatible, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Whatever its ratings, it's going to have a hard time to seriously outdo the Mamba Max. Since the MM can do 100A @ 4s, I'd imagine the Monster Max would have to be at least 120-150A @ 5s or 6s to make it a discernable difference.
