New to brushless-which mamba?

Hi, like stated I am new to the world of brushless and was just wondering which of the mamba packages do you think would be the best for a stampede and a T3. I was thinking about the 5700kv. I would mostly want it for bashing and beating nitros but would like some custom aspects in case I want to race the T3. One other thing, why is the mamba package cheap compared to others, there package-motor and controller are sometimes less than some controllers; is it because they aren't as good as the others? Does anyone have any better combinations (motor-controller) they think are better? Thanks.

First: Welcome to the forums!

I really don't know why the combos are so inexpensive (but good for us!), but they are definitely not cheaply made! The ESC is very solid, handles 100A and up to 12 cells or 4s lipos, small, doesn't heat up as much as you'd expect, and is easily programmable via computer. Some people run that ESC in 1/8th scale trucks with good results. I have the 4600 combo in a converted Jato and it will do 47mph on the street with 7.4v. At 11.1v, I'm expecting high 50's, maybe 60mph. And I could gear higher if I wanted to.

Not sure about the motor choice for the vehicles you are running - perhaps someone else will help there. But I do know the motor combo you get depends somewhat on the batteries you plan on using. If you plan on sticking to 6 cells or 2s lipo, then the 5700 might be a good choice for high speeds. If you plan on using 3s lipo or 10-12 cells, the 4600 will be fast and draw less current (increasing runtime). The 7700 would be just plain insane on 6 cells IMO, but runtime will be less.

I'd highly suggest the 5700 and so will mamba themselves.
Provides the perfect amount of torque and speeds for the truck. I run it in my pede and its great!

Thats what I would choose out of the Mamba setups, the 5700, but I would personally get the Mamba controller and a Neu motor or even a Lehner 1920.
