9L on 16 cells

I have the Feigao 9L with the 9918 controller that I run with 14 cells. But I see in your add that the 9L can be run up to 16 cells,is this really safe for this motor? What can I expect performancewise and with what gearing is advised?

The 9L can take 15-16 cells. It is working pretty hard at that voltage, though. The power will be pretty insane on 16 cells. if you are running 14 cells now, gear down a tooth or so when you go up to 16 cells and you should be pretty safe. Just get ready for some torque!

When you say "gear down" you mean more teeth on the pinion gear? I currently run 16 so go to 18 or so?

Gear Down = Less Teeth

Right. Gear down means less teeth on the pinion or more teeth on the spur. The pinion is easier to change, so that is the best way to adjust your ratio.
