Ran my MM5700 on 3s today
Very powerful. I must of got 30 minutes of runtime, lipos are amazing but the problem is, I could probably only press the trigger back 10% before it would launch its self on its back.
Tyres balloon like dinner plates, anyone know what settings I should be doing so I can actually go faster than 20mph without it backflipping? :018: The TrueRC lipos seem really good, vast improvement over Nimhs, really impressed! Will be running 6s on my 7XL soon to for my E-Maxx until I get a new motor. |
I'm running the lowest on everything and can still get a wheelie with mine on 6 cells

set the lvc to say 10v -11v and it will reduced the power pulled from the battery thus tame the systems somewhat.
Alternatively you could adjust the throttle curve so that its exponentional thus making it easier to gadually accellerate. You can also use the punch controll which will soften the throttle response making the car take longer to go WOT. On the car Lowering the ride height will make the car less prone to whellies. I have addess some weight to the front of my losi xxxt which helped reduce the wheelies somewhat. make sure that you place everything as far forward as possible so its effect against wheelieing (read turning moment) is increased. Doing the above will almost certainly make the car harder to wheelie. however failing all those you could make yourself a wheelie bar. I had an idea of using a gyro to correct wheelies by backing off the throttle when the front lifts but i suspect it would be a pain in the ass to implement. |

The lvc limits the current when the battery voltage gets to a certain level in order to stop it from dropping below that level.
This normally only ocures under heavy accelleration so when your at top speed and the voltage of the pack is rebounding because of the reduced current draw of crusing at top speed the voltage will be higher than the lvc and thus it wont do anything that will affect your topspeed. Also if your getting instant flips perhaps you should adjust the weight balance in your car further forward and lower the cars ride height. Even add some weight the nose of the truck can help keep it down. |
T4s can easily make wheelies with even a brushed motor.
I have not tried it myself, but I believe it'll help reducing the trucks wheelying problems to some extent: You can get yourself a set of ceramic ball diffs from Acerracing and put it in the T4's differential. This way you can add some more slip to the diff and adjust the spur's clutch further more. Also, using the B4's tire would dicrease the truck's wheely |
I could make a t4 whellie with eleastic band power the point is to make the car perform so that if it does wheelie its not in an unpredictable manner.
Concentrate on ride height and getting the weight forward if you want to prevent wheelies. |
try softening the rear springs. also run on a surface with less traction.

or loosen the slipper a little at a time until u can just barely keep the tires on the ground or change your gearing for more speed.

Yep, loosen up that slipper. From the AE manual, they state a properly adjusted slipper should slip for 3' - 4' from a dead stop. I cranked mine down tight yesterday and had the same wheelie problems you were having. Loosening up the slipper will fix you right up. Using the diff as a slipper...ehhhh...I'm not sure if I'd want to do that.

As mentioned, soften the rear shocks to reduce wheelis and loosen the slipper so you can actually acclerate and not just point to the sky.
