Quark 125b vs Mamba 10th scale esc
Well, I have heard so many good things about the mamba esc's. I've been contemplating selling the Quark to get one. I like my Quark a lot, but it seems that the mamba is pulling more weight with people and how they like it. Not to mention, the Qaurk has some heat issues and mine glitches a tad.
So, i would like to know which would be best? I going to run 4s lipo FYI and the Neu 1515 1/y Thanks guys! |
No thoughts on which is better?:032: :032:

I was thinking about doing the same thing but MM seems to have some bugs in it as well. I think I'm going to hold off till they iron them out. I have the thermal issues solved on the Quark and other than that it is a very good esc.

I dont think the mamba can run 4s. i think 3s is about good and kinda pushing it.

5S really, the 6s was 3.3V A123 cells.
If you already have the Q125, I'd just keep that and get a HS. The MMax is great, but I wouldn't swap in your case. Long run the Q125 will be more reliable on 5S if you can get the vooling worked out. |
Hehe, I caused all kinds of confusion, didn't I? :D
BTW, I sold my Quark125 to buy the MM, and I don't regret it. My MM has a startup glitch, but to me it is preferable to the occasional loss of throttle control that happened with the Quark. Plus, the MM is half the cost! |

I have a 5700 system and an MM esc with a 9XL and i see no problems yet. I'm running 6 cells on the 5700and 12 cells on the MM/9XL and the esc seems to run good so far. I only picked the mamba max because of Glassdoctor and Finnster and because i was stepping up to something bigger than a HV, i wanted something familar so i would know what was happening (i have an mgm, but was worried about too much unknown with programming. I can program the mamba). I do plan on playing with the mgm, but i love the mamba max as a great inexpensive esc

The mgm can be a pita :035:

I have a Quark still NIP... the Mambas are still in my 1/8 and I think it will stay there unless something goes wrong with it. So far so good with the MM.
Aside from some subtle issues racing 1/10, the MM has been great... |
I guess this would be a toss up! Geez....I like the fact that both controllers are smooth, but it really makes me wonder. I never had these issues at all with my 9920. It still is running strong too. Makes me jsut to want another 12020 some time. Then there would be no issues! Oh well, thanks for all the replies guys.

Guys,
Have you noticed any abnormal behavior, like glitching, stuttering or cogging when you use the 9920 with 6s? |
I have not tried 6s, but that is really pushing the 9920 IMO, 5s is really about as far as I would take that controller. I have ran 5s a few times and there is not probs. What LVC are you using?
