Which motor?

Hello to all! I am new to this site and the 1/8 brushless scene, I am about to place an order for a brushless system for my ofna buggy. I'm going to get the Warrior 9920 esc.........but I was hoping that some of you who have done this before might to be able to help me to decide weather I should get the Feigao 8L or 10L motor. Any recomendations will be greatly apriciated.----Jacob

To be honest, I would NOT choose a L motor. Go with an XL. As for which one, I could tell ya without knowing how many cells your gonna be running.

I just converted my 2nd buggy to BL. In both buggy's i used a feigo 7XL. Temps were very good power & runtime was awsome.

I will be running 10-12 cells.

Would I be able to get an xL motor from Mike?

gunky91 12.12.2006 09:50 AM

If I went with the 7XL would I be able to still use the warrior 9920? ( I like it because it's cheap, hehe ) I noticed that the amp ratings are very close on the motor and esc.

I don't see why not, cause I will be running a 7xl with my micro2095 BK controller very soon......and the 9920 is NOT much different from mine either.... dang typo

I think you mean that the 9920 IS NOT much different than yours. But yes, the 7xl would work just fine with the 9920 on 10-12 cells. You may want a ubec or a rx pack.

To be honest, I wouldn't run less than 12. I would personally run 12-14 or 4S LiPo.

10 is a tad low, but it would put him at 25,740 RPM's which is close...4s would put him at 31,746 which would be perfect.:027:
