U.E. Hex hubs
Hi all I have not been on here for awhile and it's good to ''read you all again'' :005: I have a question about U.E. hubs. I have a set of 12mm and a set of 17mm aluminum wheels. My axles are 6mm U.E.'s . Can I get adapters for U.E. axles or do I have to change the end shafts (stock pin type). Which I really don't want to do :019: but I will if I have no other choice. :002: . Thanks for any help guys and Merry Christmas !

Good to see you back, mmdooley. What do you mean by adaptors? If you want to run 12mm i dont know how you can do it since the UE's are 14mm if i recall. As for the 17mm all you have to do is get some 17mm adaptors, such as in mikes store (the maximizers).

By adaptors I meen adapting the 14mm down to 12mm and/or up to a 17mm.
|
Down to a 12mm, well i cant help you there, but the maximizer 17mm adaptors in mikes store would work for you. BTW, i dont think there are any 12mm adaptors.

Im not positive, one problem is i dont know if the 6mm axle wont be a problem for the maximizer adaptor..

The ones that Mike has are like the ones I have found on e-bay. They will not work on U.E. axles. Just like the 23mm Prolines will not fit. You have to use Dace ones because of the way the U.E. are made. I wonder if I could get U.E. to make me some with out it costing me a fortune. Oh well Thanks for the help.

Why not just sell the aluminum rims and run dace? Besides, other than the bling factor, alumninum rims are just added weight.
|
I got a good deal on the 12mm's They are beadlocks and 40 series. I don't mind the weight if I get beadlocks. Anybody interested in a nice 12mm set of aluminum wheels???

That is one problem with the ue cvds. The hex on them makes it hard to
adapt other stuff to them. I not sure if i would run the 12mm hexes. They may not be strong enough. Work will for a pede or 1/10. |
23mm and 17mm is your best bet i prefer 17mm becasue that is what some truggys and buggys use but 23mm is popular too
