Welcome to the forums - Most of the people run brushless motor/speed controller for emaxxes in here - but im sure that someone with a little more experience with the brushed speed controllers will be able to steer you in the right direction.. Sorry i could not be of more help - but im sure that youll get your question answered quickly.....

Welcome to the forums! To answer your question, no, that motor/esc is not suited for a heavy monster truck. You'd be better of with the stock titans. But if you want a good BL combo a 7xl with a BK 9920 with a ubec on 12 cells would be even better!

Im pritty shure trinity has some motors down to 17-18t that are usable with the evx.

welcome!

They do but why would you use it in a emaxx? :032:

That speedo and motor you are planning on using, is it a standard 540 motor, meant for 1/10th?

Sylvester 12.17.2006 03:11 PM

Serum by the sounds of it , yes. They would do good in a 1/10 buggy or stadium truck, but not in a 1/10 Monster truck.

Don't know that setup, that's the reason why i asked..

squeeforever 12.17.2006 07:36 PM

You guys need to stick to BL...:p Anywho, no, that setup won't work...One option though is the Trinity Monster Maxx motors...

IMO, if you are not going BL, the best and most dependable, the easiest to maintain is the stock Titans with the EVX. But this is just me. Never have to replace the brushes, if they wear out, just get a new motor....23.99 or even cheaper!

There is no single brushed motor that comes to mind that is suitable for this, particularly with 10 cells, and absolutely not in a 540 can. I know this for a fact. Unless you plan on rebuilding after every two packs, that is. And you will pay long term much more than just sticking with a pair of 550's or accepting the start up cost for a brushless set-up. My suggestion is to do it right and do it once. And if you can't swing it now, wait until you can.
