What are you buying your kid(s) for Christmas?

All you dads out there, what r/c stuff are you buying your kids for Christmas? I've got two 5yo girls that are getting their first hobby-grade r/c trucks for Christmas. I bought each of them a Duratrax Mini Quake SE. I painted one orange and the other pink, their favorite colors. :) I hope to pull them into the hobby with me. Last Christmas I got them $15 1/18 trucks from Toys-r-Us, but those broke pretty quickly.

Merry Christmas everybody!!! :018:

i am not a dad but the microt's would be a great choice for them because they are so small and durable. And you all can have fun with them. Just me thoughts.

I got my 8 year old a Stampede. A guy at a LHS (now closed) liked to build the Stampede kits when they were available and had a few for sale. It doesn't look like it was run at all and came with a Traxxas Rx/Tx and an LRP brushed controller for $90. So, I took it home and disassembled most of the larger assemblies (keeping the really intricate parts intact) so we can have a father-son assembly time. I also am giving him my old Superbrain 959 charger, two sets of GP3300 packs from RadioShack, and some extra tools I had.

Hopefully he'll like it.

I have no kids either. I consider my self a big kid though.
The wife getting me a gtx2 hot bodies.
I wish I had a daddy to buy me rc and help work on them when i was young.
I am glad to see some dads out there spending times with the little ones.
Family time is good.

I got my Christmas present from my wife tonight. A brand new Monster GT! Yay!

Well, we opened out presents tonight and my son was somewhat enthusiastic about the Stampede. We started putting it together, but ended up dad putting it together. The batts were charged up and we went into the basement to play. Well, my son's throttle and steering control are somewhat binary - full on or full off. So, I set up a little "track" so he could gain some throttle and steering control and it lasted about 3 minutes before he got frustrated.

Hmmph. Oh well. Maybe he'll get into it a bit more later. :frown:

I bought my 6 year old daughter an 18T for Christmas last year. She never really showed any interest in it. I even put Barbie stickers all over it. Oh well, I just put a brushless in it and that thing is insane (and took the Barbie stickers off).

I still have my little 2 year old daughter though that is showing some interest. Wether it is my planes, helicopters or trucks, she is always by my side watching. Funny thing is is that she runs as fast as she can when the T-Maxx fires up. I think she will be a future RC-Monster member.
