Looks very good Troy! Did mike machine that mount for you or did you do it yourself?

Mike did the rear plate heatsink built in, I did the small mounts for the fan itself to make the fan sit a tad deeper, other wise, I was looking at the fan sitting kinda high and not much air flow over the heat sink.

Thanks, I dremmeled my finger in the process...LOL :005: :007:

Will do, thanks!

Looks great! Ahh, a dremmeled finger.... Tastey! I know how that feels:p

neweuser 12.29.2006 12:37 PM

It's still a tad numb, it's pretty deep. It burned more than cut! LOL, but i'm pretty happy with the little mounts, they make the fan sit perfect.

I would say not as long as it took you, but it'll be done soon.:027: :005: :005:

:026: Ouch! Not good! Did that once myself.
I bought a drillpress & a cross travel table for it. It handles light duty milling just fine. No more dremeled fingers.

neweuser 12.29.2006 02:10 PM

Hopefully in the next year I can get a milling machine for projects like this. Or even like you a drill press that has a table that can be moved for cutting. We will see though...

troy, it only took me from sept to dec....which really isn't to long.....so I'm pleased with it.....good job on the fan agian

I would love to by a small mill / lathe like Smithy offers (and others) set up a couple DRO's on it and have a nice machining rig for around $2500.

My wife would kill me in the process if I did, so that's why I don't have one (yet)

coolhandcountry 12.29.2006 02:45 PM

Cool. I don't know why you don't put pics instead of link.
Nice. If you still got your finger you should feel lucky.
