Brushless HPI e-Savage

Hi all, I'm planning to upgrade my HPI e-Savage (former named HB e-Zilla) with a brushless system.

Actually I've looked on Lehner (1940 series) and Plettenberg (MAXXimum and BigMAXXimum). Are those good choiches ? If yes, which is the best ESC to pair with them ?

Any further suggestions will be very appreciated

Thanks in advance !

hey, welcome to the rc monster forum.
out of those two manufacturers i would definatly go with lehner.
and a bk electroniks 9920 or so.

Take the lehner 1940 series if you like, You will also need an esc, A 9920 will do or a quark monster pro with a rcm special heatsink.

That seems like a great package to me also. In fact I nearly ordered that combo yesterday.

Remember that the e-savage is not known for his superstrong drivetrain. Better be gentle on the trigger with that setup!

I would make it a lightweight setup, with a 4S lipo.

i would take out the tranny and put a center diff on the bottom like you did serum.

Serum 01.09.2007 05:30 PM

Arh, yes, that would be an option. it would release the diffs from a serious amount of stress.

i was thinking of a doing a savage

Just don't tell your Wife...

Working on one now too.. I like them, but their suspension geometry sucks IMO.. working on that matter too.. (or an attempt)

Lol.. I know this is off topic, but Rene, have you got to that "ultimate" battery tray for the lsp? I am very interested to see how you approached yours.

I have an E-Savage and love it. I even plan on getting one more. The Lehner Basic XL/MambaMax ECS seems to be the perfect motor for the E-Sav. Keep in mind that you wont be able to fit anything longer then an L sized motor without cutting away part of the aluminum frame.

BTW these things are tough. Alot tougher then a stock E-maxx. If you want something cheap you can just throw a brushless motor in without having to to spend hundreds of $$$ worth of upgrades, this is the truck to get. Obviously cannot compete with a decked out E-Maxx/E-Revo. But for the money its not a half bad truck at all.
