One lightweight savage conversion.

18 grams on the motorholder to be precise..

planning on putting together a fair lightweight basher (as far as possible with the savage)

CF battery trays are in progress.

Getting some CF hingepins shaved off a decent 70 gram..

Using the 2 speed transmission (heavy duty 2nd speed), mechanical heavy duty brake, Hotbodies C8019 cups, GPM/Dynamite aluminum housings.

Thats light! Looks good Rene! Is that the extended chassis?

Lets see some lsp battery trays! ;)

Serum 01.14.2007 01:54 PM

No, just the short one! the extended doesn't fit a shell nicely.. and it's very long.. i like the short wheelbase for a basher to be honest.. makes it nimble and easy to control in the air..

LSP trays? what do you mean? i am working on some carbon fibre trays..

Sylvester 01.14.2007 01:55 PM

The "ultimate" trays you were talking about in another thread ; ill show you mine once it is done, involves nylon, aluminum and a bit of machining..

I agree with the short wheelbase.. not needed for bashing. Its also lighter too!

Serum 01.14.2007 01:58 PM

Ah, yes, that are the ones for lipo-packs.. This truck will use nimh cells.. it's better suited for bashing IMO..

Sylvester 01.14.2007 02:01 PM

It really depends how the batteries are placed, and how hard you bash;)

Serum 01.14.2007 02:06 PM

That's what i said; NIMH... no matter where they are put, for bashing i put more trust in nimh than in lipo.....

looks nice and its lighter....what more!:p

Does it let the motor have any flex?

Sylvester 01.14.2007 02:25 PM

There is a plate under the motor leroy so i doubt it would have any flex.

Serum 01.14.2007 02:50 PM

No flex.. Stiffer than the other plates i made. can't go up/down or left/right

coolhandcountry 01.14.2007 02:57 PM

It looked so far back on the motor.
I thought it may have let it move or flex a little.
It is good to know it don't though.

Here; this explains..

You should try and mount a center diff. It would be lighter than the bulky Savage tranny.
