Brushless TLT

I found this site when I started learning about brushless 1/8th scale buggies, and I have really learned a lot. Thanks to all of you who have made this site so informative.

My MP 7.5 is still under construction, but since there's a crawler section now I figured I might as well post my TLT.

Some spec's:
Mamba Max esc
Hyperion z3013-14 outrunner
Losi triple-x transmission
Torsion chassis
Hitec HS-645mg servo
6 cell Energizer 2500mah battery
Yeah Racing tlt aluminum knuckles
2.2 proline moabs
traxxas stampede wheels (narrowed)
Fat-Rock aluminum axle C's
Front dig via JR XR3 3rd channel and HS-645mg

The picture was taken this past weekend in Augusta, GA during the first compitition held at that location.

I will get some body off shots in a couple weeks. I started back to school this week and had to leave the toys at home.

That is nice. How do you like that motor?
I was considering the bigger one for txt.

sven 01.16.2007 02:13 PM

I love the motor, tons of power (probably too much for such a lightweight rig). It gets over the rocks with no hesitation and the drag braking is great. The motor is a tad larger in diameter than a standard 540 brushed motor, so I had to shave a little bit of the Losi transmission to allow it to work.

The only concern I had was the lack of a flat spot on the motor shaft, but I haven't had any problems with the pinion slipping yet. If it does start to slip I will just make a flat spot on the shaft, not really a big issue to me. I modify stuff all the time to suite my needs, so I'm not too worried about it.

I also have a Revolver outrunner to try out. The revolver is a lot smaller than the Hyperion, but it's probably better suited to the rig.

nice...maby ill give crawling a try someday....seems like this new category is booming!

Sylvester 01.16.2007 09:23 PM

That would be somthing we could take up, mike. 8000mah 2s2p, BL, and a nice TXT will give us some nice over hour runtimes:):D

Mike.L 01.16.2007 09:54 PM

more! its rock crawling it wount take mutch power 2 hours:p

Sylvester 01.16.2007 09:57 PM

What do you mean by "more!"?
8000mah is more than enough mah!

jollyjumper 01.17.2007 06:47 AM

he ment i would run alot longer then an hour, more like 2 hours.

coolhandcountry 01.17.2007 12:27 PM

I have read of run times in the 60 to 75 min range on a gp3300. So 8000 mah pack on
same setup. Arm tired of holding radio. :D

Sylvester 01.17.2007 05:04 PM

Acutally, Leroy, the radio would probably die before the truck! ;)

I finally got some body off shots of the TLT.

This is the dig system. The servo pulls the female shaft away from the top, leaving it to spin freely.
