Ask about my brushless savage
Hallo everybody,
I'm new in this forum, I'm Italian and I write from Rome. I've bought a fantastic brushless Savage from Rene (I think he is a member of this forum). Before now, I've used the Savy with a Novak HV brushless systems 4.5 (about 700 watt) and now I'm waiting for a Mamba Max with UBEC and a Lehner 1940/8 from RC-Monster and 2 for 6000 2S2P Maxamp Lipo. I would like to ask you which could be the best Pinion and Spur gear set of teeth. Alex. P.S. I'm sorry for my bad english :002: |
Hi Alex! welcome to the forum!
Don't apologies for your English.! Italian is a totally different language than English.. if i remember it right, it had a 49T spur on it; With a 17T pinion it would go about 55 km/h. I think that's a good gearing to start with. The savage is still going strong? |
Are you Rene? Nice to "meet" you! :027:
Your savage (my Savage :027:) is very awesome and It still going very strong! On it there was a 47 t spure gear with a 12 t pinion to use with my novak. Now, the 12t pinion was damaged by a steel spur gear that I used only one time, but however it will be too short for the new Lehner motor. I have also a 49t and a 52t spur gears and I'm waiting for two pinion, a 14t and a 16t one. With a 47/16, on speed calculator website, I get a max velocity of about 59 km/h. Is this velocity too low as max velocity or is it good to enjoy enough? Must I ask for more velocity to this Savage? Alex. |
Yeah, i am, sorry for not introducing..
Hello Alex! arh, steel spurs kill pinions! that is a good topspeed for a basher. You will enjoy the power it has over the HVmaxx! 59 km/h for a monster truck is very fast! that HV maxx would be nice in a lightweight e-maxx (stock/g-maxx frame and with 4S lipo) |
Great!!!
I hope I will receive soon the new motor and lipo! :004: :004: |
Don't worry about you're typing, I'm an american and you're better than me.
welcome |
And trust me when I say mine is no better! And, there are plenty worse than Larry or I!
|
Rene, I've a doubt, do you remember if my savage transmission is locked in the 1st or 2nd gear? :032:
|
2nd gear..
|
Thank you Rene! :dft012:

Center differential
Now, I'm thinking about putting a center differential on my savage, it would be a good idea?
I know that I can use the Ofna differential, but what else would I must buy ? Could I use my two center CVD or will I need other length one? Are the supports (castle?) for center differential homemade or does exist any to buy already made? I'm so confused! |
