The Ofna Hyper 8 center diff????

Hallo boys i am interested to buy a Ofna hyper 8 buggy, but wanted to know if the center diff, it can mount plastic spur the Kyosho without modification.
Thanks very much :)

the pro would normally have to spider diffs( or so it does in belgium)
those diffs use 6 bolts instead of 4.
if you get the pro you'd have to swap the diff for a normal one.
if however you get the rtr or a version without the spider diffs, you can just use the kyosho spur.:027:

I've heard that the Kyosho spur really isn't a direct fit. Mtucker seemed to have some problems with the raised center binding the diff when it was screwed down. I'm getting a few in the mail soon, and the fix appears to be to mill down the center raised portion about 2mm. If that works, I'll let the folks here know. Maybe Mike can add a pre-milled version to the list, if it's a good fix.

I am using two Hyper 7/8 center differentials, each with a Kyosho plastic spur gear on them. The Hyper 7 and Hyper 8 use the same differential parts, maybe besides the spur gear. Both of my diffs fit the gears, but if I remember correctly, I had to remove some of the shims to allow the plastic spur gear to fit properly (without binding).

I have a hyper 8 center diff that Im using in my Matrix. The plastic gear works, But I had to remove all shims from the small gears and use an extra gasket to make it work. You can always buy a Kyosho diff and put the plastic spur on it. It should drop right in.

if you really want the hyper 8 you can use a HB diff....should also slipp in like a glove.

Sylvester 01.16.2007 09:20 PM

Correct me if im wrong but doesnt the HB diff have different measurments over the ofna diff(s)?

Mike.L 01.16.2007 09:30 PM

it wouldnt fit into its diff holder?

Sylvester 01.16.2007 09:34 PM

I dont know, thats why im asking ; I think the bearing size is different, or the length, someone please clarify this, if you can! :)

Mike.L 01.16.2007 09:36 PM

yea i think the the outer diamiter of the bearing is bigger, but the inner is the same?

jhautz 01.16.2007 10:37 PM

as long as the inner bearing diameter and the diff length is the same you could use the ofna bearings on it and it should still fit.

OK perfect i have a complete kyosho diff with plastic spur...
I use this one :)

jollyjumper 01.17.2007 06:36 AM

as far as i know the kyosho mp 7.5 and 777 use the same diffs as the ofna/hobao hyper 7/8 and hotbodies lightning series.
