In the past I've used simple green..... nitro clean from the local hobby shop...and alcohol in a spray bottle (nitro clean is just alcohol in a spray can )

Trinity makes "NITRO BLAST" it works well. Try to use the nitro cleaners in a open air environment. Some have strong fumes.

kk will try that nitro blast!

some wd40 also should help.

I would use simple green and a bristle brush - not the orange stuff - or if not - use denatured alcohol - dries super fast - dosent harm any electrical stuff if comes in contact with and generally works well. And when your done - a light coat of wd-40 is not a bad idea - it will make the dust stick a little more - but will clean off easier - catch 22 - .... Good Luck...

I use the Nitro blast, it works well. I hae also used Simple green, which is a great alternative with a tooth brush :)

i just went to checker automotive and got some break cleaner. used it on my freinds little rusty and it cleaned up really nice. didnt use it on my revo cause idk if it messes it up or not lol....

will it harm the revo? (also i got the dechlorinated one) so it doesnt leave any white marks.

neweuser 02.02.2007 05:24 PM

I wouldn't use it, the motor has rubber seals that will shrink. They go back, but you'll have to redo them all. I know, I learned by mistake! LOL

Brake Cleaner (most brands) will eat plastic parts. I do not recommend it. It's not good to breathe either.

Newe! Dammit! You beat me to the post again! Your up 2-1.

t-maxxracer32 02.03.2007 12:48 AM

HAH!! i take the engine out when i clean everything too............. if that means anything. and ya ik i think i got high the last time i did it! lol just kidden but ya i was in my room with the windows down and door closed.... not too smart... now i leave the window open!!

ill buy some nitro cleaner so we will see what happens!!

thats all I ever use and it hasent let me down yet.
plus it evaporates quick.

If you have access to an air compressor, one thing my buddies swear by is to use a light sprtiz of simple green... then blow it off... then a light spray of WD40...and blow it off.

This gets the it clean, protects from any corrosion, and makes it look like new.

This may not work for a neglectly filthy truck, but it works great if you do it regularly.

What I do, and it works GREAT, is I simply take the engine all the way apart and simply soke it in old nitro fuel that is to old to run...Works great...
