Monsterous Motors
 

i was recently looking at stuff for my e-maxx and came across a rolling chassis and a low price. it was unused and no electronics or anything. i soon discovered that it was a company that offered it and looked closer to see if it was stock. it was but im glad i looked because i found that they offer motors. not just any but HUGE motors. ever heard of a 970? me either. i personally plan to get the dewalt 820 thats rebuildable (2) with a gorilla maxx chassis. got any other cheap upgrades that would help? im already considering getting the diff spool for the rear and the light weight idler shafts and output shafts for it. any suggestions would be helpful

buy brushless from mike, dont waste your time with the dewalts

I once read a test on these dewalt motors from a dedicated racer.

With his stock titans he was faster than with 1 of these 'monsters'

that would for sure not be the case with a brushless setup.

Dan from Kershaw designs (the site you linked) has recently purchased a few brushless setups from me, including the one in that picture! No way the big brushed motors will hold a candle to the power of a decent brushless system. In the original link, you can see the last option - brushless 8L motor/9918 controller - BEST PERFORMANCE. That pretty much says it all.

Yeah, i know about him, i discussed your motors with him by email, because he was interested in brushless..

I used to buy pinions from him, so we have had a business relationship for several months. He will no doubt continue to experiment with more brushless systems moving forward. As I said, the big brushed motors are no match for a properly selected brushless system.

He makes really nice conversions too!

How's his pinion? I havent tryed anything higher than a 15t before you know what but in case I can keep gearing higher, is his pinions alright? thinking of maybe going 17 or 18t.....

I wasn't thrilled with the pinions I got from there, so I had a bunch of my own made. I have 14,16,18 and 20 tooth 32 pitch 5mm bore pinions in stock, which are top quality.

Cool.... ill pick up a 18 and 20 from you , you can ship it togeter with my ESC whenever I get a chance to ship it.....

I had the light weight aluminum output shafts. I had to go back to the factory. I rung both ends off. The aluminum couldn't take the punishment. The idler shafts are still going strong.

them dewalt motors n that are mainly for crawling i know some guys who likes them in there crawlers but the ultimate for crawling is the lathe i guess thats what i heard for brushed motors

Yes, those pinions are the best 5mm gears I have ever seen. What you get completly justifies the price. Great product.
