what esc should i run if i run dual fiageo 9Ls? or should i run a different motor? i dont want to spend a bazzillion dollars on a esc 150 or less if i need 2
I NEED HELP!!!! |
2 warrior 9918s, about 200 each. cheapest it will get!
|
Amen..
I don't know how experienced you are with brushless though? Keep in mind that one 9L has got about twice the power of the stock titans. But if you considered this and you like to go dual, the 9918 is an excellent choice! One single 7XL on 16 or 18 cells will be a blast too, it allready is too much for driving offroad. |
Dual brushless power is unnecessary in my opinion. As serum mentioned, one large motor and enough cells will already be too powerful for the truck. Try a single brushless with 14-16 cells or similar voltage of LiPo power and you may reconsider going to a dual system. It simply is unnecessary. I would gladly run my single Lehner xl powered maxx against any dual brushless powered truck. I could probably beat most of them.
Also, welcome to the forums! |
to be hgnest i have no experience with brushless. i had stopped my subscriptions and put my cars i the closet when they had just come out with them and am now breaking out the old cars. Mike, in your opion what would be the best "affordable" setup (as well as fasted) for racing on a somewhat small indoor track?
|
Most suitable for a rather small indoors track would be an 8L, Basic 2800XL or 3100XL on 12 cells! (with a warrior 9918) it is a stunning ride for sure! Easy on the throttle though.. ;)
|
I would steer you towards a 9L or xl2400 or xl2800 for a short track. The xl3100 or 8L may be a touch on the fast side for a short track. I am rather fond of the xl2800/xl2400 on 4s lipo or xl2800/xl3100 on 12 nimh cells. It will basically come to gearing for the track. Either of the motors will work fine, indoors or out. Gear selection will vary from track to track. I also have been known to run the same gearing, but run cheaper batteries when I need less power.

i think i have decided the exact rought i am gonning to go. the smart one. i think a 8L with the warrior 9918, a cf g2 chassis w/ extention kit, PLASTIC a-arms, bulkheads, ect. (lighter, cheaper), i have hot bodies shocks (please suggest others if you think there is something far better), widemaxx suspension, aluminum "fatty" turnbuckles, aluminum skids from gorilla maxx, and a gmaxx conversion. (thats the main stuff). if you think otherwise please feel free to make any suggestions.

also, which motor is better a plettenburg, lehner, or a feigao?
|
It sounds like you have a pretty complete list there, but I would recommend aluminum bulkheads (Fast Lane Machine are nice). The bulkheads are a weak spot on the truck and they are a PITA to change, so you may as well make them bulletproof and forget about them (you will be glad you did). For the motors, it is a matter of opinion. The Feigao motors are the best for the price, but I prefer the Lehner motors myself. Lehner motors lay claim to most of the speed records out there as well, which speaks to the quality and power of there motors. The Pletts are nice, too, but very expensive.
