Associated RC8 Buggy

I thought this was a pretty interesting find.

The new associated 1/8 scale buggy!

I think this would make for a very interesting conversion! I may try it myself, but not anytime soon. What you guys think?

Saw it on there website a couple days ago, but it does look really nice. All that black and blue look so nice together, lol. Hopefully this means tere is a chance of an electric 1/10 4wd buggy or st. That would be a really big hit. So many people are looking fro 4wd st's.

Sylvester 02.03.2007 09:20 PM

A 1/10 4wd ST would be sweet! I doubt it will happen anytime soon though.
I love the looks of this new rc8. Hopefully somtime in the future i will have one! :D

not only the rc8 but the new tc5! a b5 or somethin would be nice...but i bet there going to make a truggy 1/8

jnev 02.03.2007 11:08 PM

Mike L- I was thinking the same thing. That is what all the companies seem to be doing now-a-days.

This buggy was based on the Kyosho 777sp2... I heard this right from the top brass at AE. They put their own stamp on it of course. I think it's pretty sweet.

I think I will be selling my 777 conversion to get one of these. I race AE 1/10 buggy and truck and it would be cool to do the 8 conversion. I'm not ready to sell anything yet but once I get to see this buggy mine is probably for sale. Anyone interested in a nice BL buggy with counted hours of work done to it? :)

jnev 02.04.2007 02:07 AM

Pics? I doubt I'll buy it, since I am working on my bl buggy, but would liekt o see it anyway, lol. Or you cna PM some pics.

glassdoctor 02.04.2007 02:25 AM

I thought I had some on here somewhere, lol. I guess I will go look for them, so you can see it one way or another. I'm kinda partial to my layout. :)

This looks like a good high voltage candidate with 4.3:1 front/rear ratios...

Sylvester 02.04.2007 10:03 AM

I dont think they will make a truggy yet, or anytime soon atleast.
This buggy looks to be one of favourites! Cant wait to see how it does on the track.

Mike.L 02.04.2007 10:07 AM

now-a-days everything is mostly baised on 1/8th

That ratio is usually used for the truggies, so that means a truggy should be following :004:.

Serum 02.04.2007 11:09 AM

Don't really need that ratio with the relative small tires.

MetalMan 02.04.2007 11:16 AM

Yeah, it could actually be a bad thing. With 2000 kv motors and 4s Lipo, you might need a 16t pinion with the 46t spur and 3.31:1 diffs, but with the 4.3:1 diffs you would need a larger pinion gear, maybe even one larger than 20t.

I am partial to your layout too. That is why my 8ight looks almost exactly like yours. Basically all I did was move the esc to the receiver tray. I wanted to keep it as far away from the battery as possible.
