Kind of hard to see even with the image resized. Looks like crash damage and not puffed from abuse ?? Is there a hole in the silver cell covering ??
Yes = trash it ..
No = charge it carefully watching for any excess heat that may indicate an internal short

Good Luck

thats a tough one. Best bet it to take that cell out and trash it. Or, charge it in lipo sack and see what happens, and expect the worst.

I have read about guys that have resealed a small hole in a lipo with tape/glue... anything airtight... and they claim it worked fine. I don't know what happened long term with them.

Mabye they died in a mysterious house fire a few weeks later, lol.Ok not funny.

I would do two things.

1. Call Austin and see what he may do to help.
2. Seal the damage and see what happens... keeping a suspicious eye on it at all times.

Check the cells voltage.

phildogg 02.08.2007 03:19 PM

shows 4v right now! why ask about the volts?

Damaged cells might differ in voltage from the rest of the cells in the pack; this would keep me from using that cell.

coolhandcountry 02.08.2007 03:58 PM

I would see about getting it out of the pack and use the other cells.

I puffed up a 3s2p 4200 pack recently and salvaged a 4s1p 2100 pack from it to use in an electric ducted fan Jet.Used a heat gun to heat up the pack enough to soften the glue and carefully pried them apart.Added balance taps while I was at it.
hope this helps

If you havent ran the pack over 10 times maybe even a little more im sure it should be fine. Or send it to Austin and tell him to replace the cell, if it is any trouble for you.
