digital servo with AM ok?
I just bought a high torque digital servo for my BL Revo but it seems quite slugish and it is causing glitches with my throttle control when i pull left or right.
I heard that digital servos are best run with FM but can be run with AM what do you guys think? Also, do high torque servos draw too much current for a ESC to handle? Im using a novak hv 4.5 with two 7.4v lipo packs. Will i need to get a ubec or something. You'd think that someone could build a decent bec into ESC instead of getting a seperate one or a rx pack. cheers fellas |
Digital servos do have a rep of more radio issues, and high torque servos do suck more juice than standard ones, yes.
But the built-in esc should handle it fine... it's only one servo. AM is just not the best choice for brushelss or digital servos, because it's more prove to glitching, period. Switching to an FM radio likely will cure any little glitch problems. But you might want to try exchanging the servo you bought or email the manuf. and tell them it seems weak/slow and it's causing radio glitches. You know...it also sounds just like the symptoms of having the transmitter batteries very low... that will cause the cross-channel glitch thing like you have. |
