This looks very cool... better than dragging a laptop around.
This site also had a link to this cool charger...

10s lipo
com port for balancer to show cell voltages

(second item down... supernova charger)

$$???

Id much rather use a PC/laptop which is easy to use and I already own, than having to buy hardware that will only work on that unit. Other companies have tried similar stuff, always flopped. Controller looks goof though.

Yeah, too bad they grabbed their own programming thingy. IMO a USB connection is the way to go.

BrianG 02.16.2007 02:20 PM

TBH, I don't know why Quark came out with another 1/10th scale ESC when the MM is most likely better spec'd and better priced. I hope they brought some nice features to the table to make it a worthwhile choice. IMO, Quark should instead concentrate on a true 1/8th scale car ESC with big cell counts (~10-12s), big current ratings (~200A), plentiful features, USB programming, and competitive price instead - that's where the market is a little weak.

The Supernova and balancer looks an awful lot like a Hyperion clone. And the specs sound about the same too. One thing they don't mention is if you can program the CC/CV threshold...

glassdoctor 02.16.2007 02:27 PM

Well I like the PC programing, no doubt. But this is a cool option for Quark users.. better than beeps and led flashes.

The best would be a PC with optional PDA/phone software.

BG maybe they will lower their lofty pricing wiht the new products??? If they are smart...

Serum 02.16.2007 02:28 PM

hyperion, flightpower, Simprop, Graupner, Quark.. All selling 'their' own balancers..
