i think its a 10L gearing

ok i bought this hacker c-50 for 50$ at a Lhs, the owner said he did not have a big enough controller for the motor, brand new he said it was for the e-maxx but had a 5mm shaft, i have the hacker motor for the e-maxx and its an 8L with shaft 5mm milled down to 1/8, any way like i said i think its a 10L when i opened the case it had alot more winds than the 8L, it could a 11 12 or 13 L i just need a ball park, and how will i know when i get there.

thanks

Dont know what to say about the gearing a ? motor.

I have a question about your other motor... where did you get it? Hacker's C50 MAXX motor is not an 8L... it's a 12s... sorta. The guys at hacker never really confirmed if the windings were exactly like a S or L... but the rotor is an S size.

Just wondering if you had a "special" emaxx motor?

damn you got me there, are you sure its an s series its between a s and xl in size, like its a hair short of a fegio xl , i dont know i was lead to believe it was an 8L, i just need to get rid of these motors and get an 8xl, make it easy on my self

i just went to hacker to check out the motors and in the c-50 motor constant section there is only one wind for s and its a 13 and all the rest are L and xL,
so its a 13s for the e-maxx, why would they put that in a 10lb truck?

glassdoctor 02.24.2007 07:22 PM

It's a 12s, not a 13s.

The "Emaxx" C50 was a 12s and was rated 3033kv. (same as a B50 12s)

As for why they put that in a 10lb truck? who knows... that's just what guys were doing then. At least it wasn't a B50 8s like the Modeltech systems.

Some already knew the L motors were better.... but very few were jumping on the XL bandwagon. I don't recall that at all... the L were regarded as big...

I thought the hacker maxx motor was a L size can with a s size rotor in it. Maybe the can was for heat. They was in the 12s speed range.

It is a L size can, but the rotor is an S.... and the windings??? that's the part that's clear as mud.

I asked Hacker about it before and they didn't make it very clear... it's an L can... it's an s rotor... it's a 12 wind motor... but how it compares to normal B50 motors??? Somehow the windings are different than a regular B50 can, but they can't say exactly how.

I put a Feigao L rotor in my C50... which should make it a 12L... but something is a little off I think. The motor screams... it seems to run like a hotter wind than a 12L. Very fast but runs hot and it's hard on speedos too.

I recently got it too hot and killed the magnet btw...

steveo 02.24.2007 11:17 PM

ok now thats cleared up, then the motor i bought from the Lhs is an L motor it had a longer magnet and 5mm shaft, ok when i ran this motor on the gearing i used for the other motor 16/72 this is where it gets weird i checked temps after some 2nd gear wot runs and the temp was 93 on speedo and 115 on the motor but the speedo was much hotter to the touch than the motor, also checked the caps they where 140 but they are probably always hot, i would like to make this motor work for the truck, also with the other speedo i had the esc would heat up faster than the motor, i have never really run the truck hard with this motor because of that, so am i under or over or under geared.

The temps are great if they are F
