New E-Maxx looking for Lipo/BL advice

Hi all,
OK, first post. I did a lot of research recently to try and find some recommendations. Of course, everyone has their prefs. I also read the sticky. Good write-up. What I am after is a fairly reliable, longer running, a bit faster, E-Maxx. I was thinking about the Feigao 7XL as mentioned in the sticky, but unfortunately, RC-Monster does not have any 7xl's in stock. (or 8xl's). They only have 9XL's with the built in Heat Sink. I was considering going to the Novak HV set-up but most advice points towards a custom set up. Bottom line, I would like something that is going to get me 30-40mins of Run Time and will not be too fast to be hard to handle. If someone can give me a "shopping list" of items I will need to convert my bone stock E-Maxx to Lipo/BL. Also need Lipo suggestions. BTW, I will be just using the E-Maxx for cruising around. Nothing hard core. I don't want to break anything:017:

Cheers,

Follow up.

One more Q. If I go Lipo, I assume I would still use 2 packs, correct? I still don't quite get the 4S/2S thing so I was not sure if you would use two packs, or just one. Ie. 2-2S packs vs 1 4S pack.

Cheers,

If speed is not an issue. You would rather have run time. I would recommend
the 9xl of the 7xl. If you looking for long nice runtime. Go with the 4s about
8000 mah packs. 2 x 2s pack You will still have enough power to break alot of
stuff.

I'm not one of hte emaxx guys here.... others are more in tune to exactly what you should upgrade.

For batteries I would say a pair of 8000mah packs would be good... and will give you the big run time you want... should do 30+ minutes of solid runtime.

The emaxx is well suited to higher kv motors. The 9XL would be perfect for you in a center diff style truck, but you might not be able to get the gearing tall enough in a emaxx with a stock gearbox/motor plate.

See what others recomend...
