New Option, E-Maxx BL/Lipo vs XXX-T BL/Lipo

Sorry to be such a bother. But, I still have yet to receive my E-Maxx and was also considering a TL XXX-T BL/Lipo. In everyone's opinion, will an xxx-t with a BL/Lipo be just as much fun as an E-Maxx. I only want a fast basher and want to limit the $$$. With an E-Maxx, the intial cost is more, it takes two batteries, etc. Again, if you read my E-Maxx post, you will see that I am most interested in run time and fun. No hard core Racer Boy BS, and no Bash til it breaks stuff. Basher but not Thrasher. Will I have more fun with an E-Maxx BL/Lipo, or an XXX-T BL/Lipo? Don't forget the cost/fun factor!

Cheers

I think the best cost vs fun factor will be had with a Rustler or Stampede personally. They're cheaper than the XXX-T, parts are very easy to get and they hold up very well to brushless with minimal upgrades.

I would say a maxx is more fun bashing, period. But it may depend on what you do... where you run it. If it's a lot of street type of stuff a xxxt would be great because it's faster cheaper easier...

But the big 4wd, wheelies, etc makes the max a lot of fun... more possiblities of terrain to run on etc.

Good call... the stampede is a good mix of both trucks.. more "monster truckish" without the cost and complexity.

Hmm, never even gave the 2WD Trucks from Traxxas a look. I will have to check. I am just getting back into RC after about......15 years off. I missed the entire NiMH phase. It was NiCd Associated, Kyosho or Tamiya back then. Not much BL and Lipo, WT Hell is that!

So you think a Traxxas 2WD is better than an associated or losi setup?

I wouldn't say they are better, but they do hold up better to bashing. The T4 and XXX-T are very nice vehicles, but more suited to racing than backyard bashing.

They make good bashers... they are built tough... parts tend to flex rather than snap in a bad crash. And they are much cheaper. The new stampede is a pretty cool little truck imo.

I think I will stay with an e-maxx. It may cost a bit more to get what I want, but a 4wd Monster truck with that kind of speed is pretty sweet. I am probably looking at another $500 to convert the E-maxx to BL/Lipo. Oh, well. If this does not satisfy my adrenaline rush, I may just have to stick with motorcycles. LOL

The stampede just seems pointless to me. A 2WD MT? At least the Rustler seems more of a mix between a stadium truck and a MT.

Cheers,
