spektrum problems!
seems like everytime i run my rc, something breaks. Now tits my spektrum. I opend up the lsp to disocover that the whole antenna was ripped off. I currenlty have about an 1 cm lenght of spektrum wire. I never expereinced glitching issues so i think i'll still use it at that, but is it possible to fix with wire from another reciever? Will i have to buy special wire?

if you are good at soldering i'd take a shot at it.
take a wire from a old rx. or go to electrics store and get wire. really tiny wire tough, dont know what gauge. |
I did the same thing. The only problem is that the wire NEEDS to be a specific length (according to the Spektrum guys anyway). If you have another receiver, you can open that up to get a complete measurement on the length of the wire.
My LHS had replacement wire on the rack, so I just got some and opened up my receiver. The spot that you have to solder to is right there on top. I used a very small chisel tip at about 600 degrees and knocked it out in no time. I did this about a year and a half ago, and haven't had any issues. Just a note though. Doing this WILL void the warranty. If yours is under warranty, you might want to just send it in and play the waiting game. Also...IIRC, the pcb has a sealant applied to it. I just scraped this from the solder joint with an Xacto knife. If the sealant is there, you have to remove it, as you can't solder through it. |
does it matter what wire? could i jsut use wire from a fm or am reciever?
