Mamba Max ESC and Lehner motors
 

Hello,

Does anyone know what Lehner motors the Max ESC is best with ? I'm planning on using it with the Lehner basic XL5000 and Lehner 1920/5 on 2S lipo. Does this sound reasonable ?

Would a LMT BK Warrior ESC be better and ifso why would it be so ? Wich warrior would be best if I descided to go that way ?

No, the MM will gladly handle your setup.

Both motors would work. I would prefer the 1920/6 But the 1920/5 would also work. Use good lipo's!

That should deliver better torque than the mamba max motor, with similar speeds with similar gearing

Why do you thinck the 1920/6 would be a better deal ? It's meant to go in my 1/10 scale project touring car. I would love to kick some serious MM motors with the lehners. I'm racing rather small tracks with lots of curbs and 90 feet straights. Torque is just what I need in MHO.

1920/5 has less effeciency than the 1920/6. With the latter, you can gear it higher so that it can run as fast as a 1920/5. Also, with a 2s lipos( the very good ones ;P) you can get raw power out of the 1920/6( rpm is something like 5225) you'll be a bit over 40k rpm if you go lipo.

Ok , it's not to late , I can still order the 1920/6 , I haven't payed for that one yet. I placed an order at the LMT Lehner factory in Germany last week. The basic XL5000 I got from Mike runs great so far. What will I notice as a difference between the XL and 1920 motor the most ? Speed ,torque , runtime , ... ?

So I suppose with a less efficient motor I'll get less runtime right ?

More runtime, less heat build up, a bit more power and speed.
And most important: They'll last FOREVER!

Forever is pushing the limits, id say the bearings will die after 5 years :)

I can always replace the bearings right ? I can't see how to open the motor can , seems pretty closed to me and I can't see screws but I hope it can be done. My Novak SS5800 bearings are almost 5 years old and still are in very good shape. I lube them with Dry Ice a few times per year though.

The endbells screw on. It takes a jig type devise to open them. It's no easy task from what I've been told, but yes, they can be replaced.

The bearings and the motor(1920/5) should last for 5 years IF you'll be using it in a super heavy monster truck. These motors are plain tough..:)

Well , I have 8 brushless systems at my last count and I don't always use them all. Some only get used a few times a year so in my case the Lehners will last forever hihihi

The Lehner 1920 will be used in my modified and slightly heavier 1/10 touring car. It's hopped up with a large amount of aluminum and Liquid cooling system with cooling liquid so it's rather heavy , that's why I needed a strong motor because the mamba doesn't cut the job for me well enough.
