Need a suggestion for a friend

Ok, I've got a friend who is going to build and R/C in the near future. However, his requirements seem kind of tight, and I've been hardpressed to find one that fits them.

Anyways, he wants something thats:

Brushless (of course)
Fast (40+mph)
Reliable (like Revo level durability)
4wd
Decent Ground Clearance
Less than $400 (excluding batteries).

The only thing I can really think of is the MLST, but I'm not so sure about it reliability wise.

Any suggestions welcome and greatly appreciated.

So he is looking for 1/18 scale I assume? You can always sell him your 18t if you want, lol.:005:

Unless the MLST2 diffs prove themselves I would say stay away from the MLST. I have spent half of your friends budget on diffs and servos. It also doesn't have what I would call "decent ground clearance."

How about a Revo roller with a Mamba Max and a Feigao motor? If you (he) can get a roller for $200, you could get the Mamba Max for cheap, and the Feigao motor would be like $80. Then a custom motor mount could be made, or more could be spent on Mike's mount.

Hmm...very true. I think he would be willing to put more money into it if he could do a Revo.
