Programming MGM 80 amp with 5300
I've been hounding Mike with pm's so I thought I'd ask advice from others on this one...I got the motor and ESC all soldered up nicely. I will be running either 6-7 3300 cells in my MF2 with 19-21 tooth gearing...the set procedure seems pretty easy after reading it a thousand times  anyway I think I got it now..so anyway when it comes to a couple of parameters please give me the best setting for the following:
Timing? (what is timing anyway?) Range of Neutral Zone? Automatic Correction of the Neutral ater Switching-on? ....other than that it all looks good...alos what would be the best solution for keeping dust out of the motor..there is a lot of space where the wires come out Thanks |

You definately want to use something though in dusty conditions. My first 4200 I did nothing and within a couple weeks it was full of dirt and not running right. |
just caulk the hole. Don't fill the can with caulk though - a thin superficial layer around those wires should do fine. You can just put a balloon over the rear of the motor with the wires sticking out too.

Thanks guys for all your input but I'm still in the dark about timing???
Even the simplest advice would help considering I have no experience in this area Thanks |
I use a high temp rtv silicone around the mtor wires. It won't melt and keeps the bad stuff out. For timing, leave it on automatic timing.
