shots of the new G1 single motor mount

i thought i'd share some photos. even though it is a simple piece of machined aluminum, it's a purrty one. :027:

here's a comparison shot... G1 vs. stock motor plate

the part i like the most - all the clearance on the non-motor side now!

I think it looks great. I noticed that it's adjustable in a sense where you can lower it a notch. Other than that, not much different to the stocker, so how low can it bring the motor down to get more LCG?

ClodMaxx 04.12.2007 10:04 AM

yeah, it can lower the motor 15 degrees, as long as you have the room. my ni-mh packs are tight in that space as it is, so i couldn't drop it down the 15 degrees. small lipo packs should fit with it lowered without a problem though.

the other major difference between this and stock is that the G1 plate and 3 screws replaces all this:

so there's some weight savings as well. the spur/pinion are exposed now too, so i'll just have to blast some air over it every other run or so.

Don't worry about the exposed gears, none of my trucks has a cover.
My buggy even has the plastic spur sticking out a bit under the chassis... many many runs on it, only one spur wasted (bent motor plate)

cool. thanks.

i guess i was worried more about dust/dirt getting in the motor (even though it is a puny novak motor :005: ). glad to hear it's not a big problem.

zeropointbug 04.12.2007 04:33 PM

It definitely looks cool, but I still don't think it's worth what? $40?! Give me a break. :040:

ClodMaxx 04.12.2007 04:40 PM

i know, lol. but i couldn't resist. i won't, however, pay $74 for the single speed. my stock conversion works just fine. :005:

zeropointbug 04.12.2007 04:41 PM

LOL, i DID however pay for the single speed, and got the stock motor mount. :005:

squeeforever 04.12.2007 04:57 PM

What was the single speed price before? $59 or something like that? I don't see how they can charge $15 more for new screws...

zeropointbug 04.12.2007 05:59 PM

Pretty greedy if you ask me.

crazyjr 04.12.2007 06:25 PM

Cool! I didn't know it could be clocked. I run my gears exposed for years, never had a failure due to the elements

GorillaMaxx360 04.12.2007 09:21 PM

nice

mini-mad 04.13.2007 01:32 PM

yes,i agree;it's verry cool and nice but i think it's too expensive;you can do the same thing with an old stock motor mount :010: i prefer the old one

neweuser 04.13.2007 01:33 PM

that was my thinking too.

Mike.L 04.14.2007 04:15 PM

Its a nice mount, but i'd agree with the majority. It IS to expensive.
