CRT.5 motor choice ?

Does anybody know if the traxxas 2.5 motor will fit in the crt.5 ?.

It should. Someone at the LHS put in an OS 18! :dft002:

The mounts are set up so you have lots of options about which motor to use. Take a look at the pictures of the mount and you'll see why (easier and clearer than me trying to explain it, lol).

Brian thank's for your repliy. Im thinking of getting the CRT.5 & putting a TRX 2.5 motor that i have laying around. I think it would be a real good choice for a motor, powerful & inexspensive.

I would go with the 3.3. Can you say 70mph? :D

Why stop there why not a OS speed v-spec 21 :005: JK. I just think this mini truggy looks so cool . Know i just have to decide on the mini crt.5 or the full size crt deal i told you about.

Brian i looked at the mount i see what your talking about. I've seen that kind of mount before.

I would go for the CRT Pro...No doubt...

If I was going to use a Nitro motor in my CRT .5 it would be a 3.3 for sure. It would be so awesomely powerful, and be able to put down most of it because of the 4wd.

I think the 3.3 would be to much usable power. If you saw the video of the crt.5 with the OS 18tz, the front end would,nt stay down. Im going to use the 2.5 sinice i have a extra one.

I just found out my CRT.5 will be here thursday morning.

Well, you couldn't use stock gearing with the 3.3 - I would have gone up like 3-4T on the clutchbell...

If you can wait, I saw a pic of an OS.21TM, thats right a small block .21, not a mid block, a true small block. I'll post a link if i can find it, its not on OS's site yet

edit: found it its a korean site but you can still see the engine and main stats

I think that would be to much power for that little car. I think the 2.5 is pushing it a little as it is. I only using it because i already have it & it's free LOL.

I have an OS.18tz in my CRT.5 with a 14T CB and the wheels come right up when I mash the throttle on take off. I will be adding some different fluids to the diffs that should help but even a nice little .12 will make this Truck fly.
The 2.5 should be handfull enough for most people...the Truck can handle it mate, she's tough. ;)

BP-Revo 05.17.2007 10:39 AM

3.3 hehehe...
