Putting a Feigao 540 9L back together?
 

The endbells have popped off on my 9L (not a C motor). What would work to "glue" them back in?

Use JB weld instead of glue.

Should work well, but since they have popped off the "joint" has probably weakened, so it would be a good idea to find some way to hold the motor so it won't happen again.

Mine popped off i just super glued it. But while its apart take this oppurtunity to check or replace the bearings with new & better bearings.

ZPB: I would get the RCM heatsink clamp if I were you. There is an L option. Then, just pop it back together, use the clamp, and you won't have any more problems. Just my $0.02...

Like I (tcolesen) said over at RCZ, JB Weld has worked well for me.

BP-Revo, there really isn't any joint to be weakened when the endbell(s) come loose. Simply chipping off the old glue allows the JB Weld to make proper contact, that should last a long time (like it has with the 540C 7XL in my Revo).

MM, each time the endbell pops out, I'm sure the metal is stretched or chipped/shaved down.

Its kind of like a push-pin or a tack into a wall. Push it in and pull it out to many times and the fit becomes loose. I know that metal is strong than drywall, but the same concept applies.

Also, since I'm sure the motor didn't come apart perfectly straight, I'm sure even more stress was put on the can where it is clamped.

Does the end ever pop off of Lehner motors?

the ends of a lehner are treaded into the can, i think.

The only chipping I have seen is from the glue that holds the motor together. I've had 4 Feigao motors come apart on me, and haven't yet seen any actual damage (like stretching or bending) done to the aluminum. However, a couple of bearings have been destroyed from the angle the motors came apart at.

Do the coils get scratched up or otherwise damaged from the rotor as it comes out?
