BK Micro controller and Neu Motors?
Will the BK Micro Controllers run the Neu Motors? I know that the BK Warrior controllers will not.
If anyone can let me know Id apreciate it. This one? http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...troller&cat=21 The manual on BK's site says it will. http://www.bk-electronics.com/micro_eng.pdf At the Bottom of the 2nd page. |
i dont think they will, i used to have a Micro 2095 Bk controller, and i was told that it won't run a 4 pole motor very well...which is what the Neu are.... for 400.00 I would just get a quark 125b and the quark heatsink for 30.00 and it will only set you back about 320.00 that is what i just ordered not to long ago.

The BK controllers "work" with the neu motors, but not very well, as Shayne pointed out. They have the "instant brakes" when inputting any throttle input after coasting - as if they lose the rotor position during coasting. I 2nd the Quark recommendation. :)

From my experience, the Bk controllers have got the nasty habbit, that once they hit their RPM limit, the instantly stop turning the motor.. (notsogood..)
|
What is the RPM limit of BK? I would assume that if it can turn a 2 pole motor at 60krpm, then it can turn a 4 pole at only 30krpm. Is that right?
To get around that, I suppose you could trim down the EPA on the radio to keep rpms down. |
I thought it SHOULD be 150K for a 2pole. But my 6 poler hit the RPM limit at 20K..
|
I would limit all the confusion and just get the Quark, it runs the Neu flawlessly, temps are at the minimum, and worth every penny!

According to the manual on the BK site the RPM limits are like this:
RPM: ca. 100,000 rpm with 2-pole motor ca. 50,000 rpm with 4-pole motor ca. 25,000 rpm with 6-pole motor But then, I also found on the BK web store that says "[B]all BK-Controllers are made for 2 pol brushless motors ! I dont plan on going over the 50K limit on the neu which is a 4 pole motor. I already have a few quarks but was thinking about trying the 3695 so I could run a higher voltage setup. Something like 10s. At least 6s which is ify on a Quark. Anyway it was just a thought. I probably wont be doing anything with it for a little while. Just thinking at this point. What is this instant brake thing after letting off the throttle? Sounds really stupid. |
